Detlef Brehmer – responsible fila breeder?

Let’s revisit our case of buying a fila brasileiro puppy from Canil von Drachenschwanz. Let’s do a summary after a year from buying a fila brasileiro puppy from Canil von Drachenschwanz, kennel owner is (I guess) Detlef Brehmer. German middleaged man, motivation mainly in money. That’s my opinion based on my experience, I don’t present that as a fact here.

It has been over a year now, since I bought that fila puppy from Detlef Brehmer, from Germany. I still have not received official pedigree from him. So, actually I can’t even be sure if the puppy was a fila! Maybe it was something else. Did he sell me a crossbreed? I don’t know, honestly.

If you consider buying a fila brasileiro puppy from Canil von Drachenschwanz, I urge you to consider further. I did buy a fila puppy from Detlef Brehmer and based on my experience you should not do that.

Here are the facts, which you should at least know:

-I paid 800 euros for 8 weeks old (was supposed to be) fila brasileiro puppy, plus 590 for cargo to Finland and 88 euros for checkout in Helsinki-Vantaa airport. There were more other costs too, but you can read about them in my previous post about this infamous fila breeder

-The puppy was permanently sick, she had PPM. No cure for that. That sickness should have been noticed at proper vet inspection in Germany, that’s my opinion. But I am not a vet.

-After I proved with documents that she was sick, Detlef Brehmer offered me a new puppy, but could not deliver him because “there was a strike in Germany”

-He did not offer to share costs of cargo to fly a new puppy to me. So, because he sent a sick puppy to me, my pick up costs would almost double.

-After “the strike in Germany” Detlef Brehmer offered that I could pick up that new puppy from Denmark, when the new puppy would be around 4 months old. Why in Denmark? Because her daughter would be there and so I could just go there and pick him up. It’s over friggin 3000 km’s! So sure…not!

-I then refused to have that new puppy and wanted 600 euros refund from sick dog. Result – he stopped answering my emails

-Detlef Brehmer of Canil von Drachenschwanz did not sent me a pedigree, so it’s possible that dogs he sells are not even filas, but something else

If you want to have a good and true fila brasileiro

Find a responsible fila breeder, a real breeder. Someone who actually cares about the dogs s/he sells.

In my opinion, Detlef Brehmer of Canil von Drachenschwanz does not give a damn about you or the puppies he sells.
